Applicants for jobs as Corrections Officers, Probations Officers and related positions
Under the Criminal Records (Clean Slate) Act you must declare all your criminal convictions if you are applying for the following positions: Corrections Officer, Senior Corrections Officer, Principal Corrections Officer, Unit Manager, Prison Manager, CIE Instructor, Probation Officer, Senior Probation Officer, Service Manager, Senior Community Work Supervisor or Community Work Supervisor. Please note that you must also declare convictions for which you received name suppression(Note: You do not need to declare minor traffic offences, such as Parking Infringements. However, you must declare drink driving offences)
Applicants for other positions
If the position you are applying for is not one of the ones listed above, and you meet the eligibility criteria under the Criminal Records (Clean Slate) Act 2004 to with hold past convictions you may answer the above question by stating that you have no criminal record. If you do not meet the eligibility criteria you are required to disclose your criminal conviction details.
